Printable Pace Band
A pace band is a paper wristband with the clock time for every km or mile of your race. For a 4:00:00 marathon at even pace you should pass 10 km at 0:56:53 and halfway at 2:00:00. Pick your race and goal, then print up to four bands on one page.
First half 2:00:00, second half 2:00:00.

How to use it
- Choose the race and type your goal time.
- Pick km or mile splits to match the markers on your course.
- Choose even pace or a negative split.
- Download the PDF, print at 100 %, cut out and tape around your wrist.
Worked example
A 4:00:00 marathon with a 1.5 % negative split: the first half takes 2:00:54 and the second 1:59:06. The band shows each km at the right pace for its half, and the finish is exactly 4:00:00.
Questions and answers
What is a pace band?
A paper strip you wear around your wrist during a race. It shows the clock time you should see at each km or mile marker for your goal.
What is a negative split?
Running the second half faster than the first. Here you choose how much faster per km, for example 1.5 %. The band still adds up to your goal time.
How do I print it at the right size?
Download the PDF and print at 100 % or “actual size”, not “fit to page”. Each band is 28 mm wide. Cut along the dashed lines.
How do I wear it?
Wrap it around your wrist and tape the ends. Covering it with clear tape helps keep it dry.
